Geoinformaatikaprofessor Robert Weibel Zürichi ülikooli geograafia osakonnast peab loengu teemal "Working Through the Scales: Towards Cross-scale Analysis of Movement Data” 11.veebruaril kell 10.15 ruumis 335.

Abstract: The talk will first argue why movement analysis should move towards a cross-scale rather than single-scale approach. I will then show different methods and examples of movement analysis applied to tracking data of different animal species. I will concetrate on two problems: First, the classification of movement patterns and behaviors (with particular attention on how cross-scale methods can be used to derive adequate classification features), and second, the segmentation of trajectories into different behavioral modes using an inherently multi-scale method, the Discrete Wavelet Transform.
